Changing planes with a Indonesia passport
These rules cover connecting flights where you stay in the airport's international transit area. Leaving it, changing airports or collecting your bags means entering the country, which needs the entry visa.
Schengen area
No airport transit visa needed
United Kingdom
No airport transit visa needed
United States
US visa needed, even to change planes (a C-1 transit visa or a B visitor visa)
Who is exempt
A valid US visitor (B) visa also covers transit.
Canada
Canadian visa needed, even to change planes (a transit visa for stays of 48 hours or less)
Transit Without Visa: with a valid US visa, flying to or from the US through Toronto Pearson (Terminal 1), Vancouver, Calgary or Winnipeg on a participating airline, staying in the international transit area and leaving within 24 hours. Taiwan passports only without a personal ID number.
Who is exempt
US lawful permanent residents can transit without a Canadian visa or eTA.
Australia
No transit visa needed for connections within 8 hours
Without a visa only if you arrive by air, leave for a third country by air within 8 hours on a confirmed ticket, hold the documents for your destination and stay in the transit lounge. Collecting bags or clearing immigration for any reason needs an Australian visa.
Singapore
No transit visa needed
Only while you stay in the transit area of Changi Airport. Some low-cost airlines make you clear immigration to collect your bags or check in for the next flight; Singapore's entry rules then apply. Ask your airline if unsure.
United Arab Emirates
No transit visa needed
Only while you stay in the transit area (Dubai, Abu Dhabi and other UAE airports). To leave the airport, for example on separate tickets, you need a pre-arranged 48- or 96-hour transit visa, sponsored by a UAE airline, unless your passport enters visa-free or on arrival.

How many countries can Indonesia passport holders visit without a visa?

Which countries are visa-free for Indonesia passport holders?
Indonesia passport holders can enter these 45 countries visa-free: Angola, Barbados, Belarus, Brazil, Brunei, Cambodia, Chile, Colombia, Dominica, Ecuador, Fiji, Gambia, Haiti, Hong Kong, Iran, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kiribati, Laos, Macau, Malaysia, Maldives, Mali, Micronesia, Morocco, Myanmar, Namibia, Oman, Palestinian Territory, Peru, Philippines, Qatar, Rwanda, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Samoa, Serbia, Singapore, Tajikistan, Thailand, Timor-Leste, Tunisia, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Venezuela and Vietnam.
Why do other websites show a different number for the Indonesia passport?
Websites count different things. Wandava counts every way in without an embassy: visa-free (45), visa on arrival (20), online eTA (6) and eVisa (36), 107 in all. Counting only entry with no step before you travel (visa-free and visa on arrival) gives 65, and visa-free alone gives 45. When an online visa needs a local sponsor or a full set of supporting documents, Wandava counts it as an embassy visa, not an eVisa.
