Visa must be a multiple-entry visitor visa (US B1/B2, UK visitor, Schengen C) valid for the whole stay; tourism, business or transit only, under 180 days. A residence permit counts only if it is permanent: a US green card, or permanent residence in a Schengen country or the UK. A French card must say "PERMANENT" or "RÉSIDENT DE LONGUE DURÉE – UE"; temporary, multi-year and other residence cards do not qualify and need a Mexican visa. Also accepted: Canadian and Japanese visas and permanent residence cards.
