Azerbaijan opened three temporary visa-free windows in 2026. Citizens of eight countries can now visit Baku and the rest of the country without a visa, for up to 30 days per entry. Each window lasts one year, and Azerbaijan's official e-visa portal lists the end date next to each country.
Who can enter visa-free, and until when
| Passport | Visa-free from | Until |
|---|---|---|
| Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Oman, Bahrain | 15 February 2026 | 15 February 2027 |
| Japan, South Korea | 1 July 2026 | 1 July 2027 |
| Bosnia and Herzegovina, Singapore | 1 August 2026 | 1 August 2027 |
The rules during the visa-free window
- Stay: up to 30 days per entry.
- Entries: up to 3 entries within one year. From the 4th entry, you need a visa again.
- After the end date: unless Azerbaijan extends the exemption, you will need a visa again. Azerbaijan issues e-visas through its official ASAN Visa portal (evisa.gov.az).
Planning a trip close to the end date
If your trip starts shortly before the end date for your country, check the ASAN Visa portal again before you fly. Azerbaijan has not said whether it will extend these windows. We will update this article and the passport pages when it does.
Where the rules come from
The dates, the 30-day limit and the three-entry rule come from the country list on ASAN Visa, Azerbaijan's official electronic visa portal, which we last read on 1 October 2026. If you see a newer official notice, email us and we will update this article and the passport data together.
