With a Belarusian passport you can visit 107 countries and territories without going to an embassy. 41 of them are fully visa-free: you show your passport at the border and walk in.
The list below uses the same data as our Belarus passport page, so the two always match. When we confirm a rule change with an official source, both update together.
Four ways in without an embassy
- Visa-free: no application. Show your passport, and usually a return ticket, at the border.
- Visa on arrival: you get the visa at the airport or border when you land. A fee may apply.
- eTA: a short online travel authorisation, applied for before you fly.
- eVisa: a full visa, but you apply on the official government website. No embassy visit.
All four count as "no embassy". Only the last two need an online application before you travel.

Open the Belarus passport page: map, filters and flight linksWhat changed for Belarusians in 2025 and 2026
Visa lists age quickly. These are the changes we have confirmed since the start of 2025:
- Montenegro: visa required from 1 November 2026. Visa-free stays of up to 30 days end on 31 October 2026, as Montenegro aligns its visa rules with the EU. After that you apply for a visa through VFS Global, unless you hold a valid Schengen, US, UK or Irish visa or residence permit, which still allows up to 30 days. See Montenegro's new visa rule.
- Thailand: visa on arrival, up to 15 days (since 15 September 2026). After Thailand's reform, Belarus is one of only three countries whose citizens can still get a visa on arrival. See Thailand's new visa rules.
- Myanmar: visa-free (since 8 July 2026). Under the Belarus–Myanmar agreement, Belarusians can stay up to 30 days per entry and 90 days per calendar year.
- Cabo Verde: visa before arrival (since 1 January 2026). Visa on arrival ended for Belarusians; get the visa from a Cabo Verde embassy. See Africa's visa changes in 2026.
- Chad: online visa only (since 11 May 2026). Every visa application for Chad is now made on evisa.td.
- Israel: ETA-IL (since 1 January 2025). Travellers from visa-exempt countries need an approved ETA-IL before travel.
Also worth knowing:
- Albania: Belarusians need a type C visa, applied for on e-visa.al. Entry is visa-free only with a multiple-entry Schengen, EU, US or UK visa or residence permit that has already been used.
- Indonesia: Belarus is on the official visa-exempt visit list, so you can stay up to 30 days without a visa.
Hold a US, UK or Schengen visa? More doors open
Some countries relax their rules for Belarusians who already hold a valid US, UK or Schengen visa or residence permit. A Schengen visa opens 11 extra destinations, a US visa 6 and a UK visa 4. These are the extra destinations a Schengen visa opens:

Open the live list for the Belarus passport with a Schengen visa: conditions, sources and flightsEach country has its own conditions, such as a multiple-entry visa or one you have already used. They are listed with their official sources on the held-visa pages: Schengen visa, US visa, UK visa, Schengen residence permit and US green card.
Changing planes on the way
- Schengen area: Belarusians can change planes airside in Schengen airports without an airport transit visa.
- United Kingdom: Belarusians need a direct airside transit visa (DATV) even to change planes without passing border control. You don't need it with a valid visa for Australia, Canada, New Zealand or the US, a permanent residence permit from one of those countries, or an EEA or Swiss residence permit or long-stay (D) visa. A Schengen short-stay visa does not count.
- United States: there is no airside transit. You need a US visa even to change planes, and a valid US visitor (B) visa covers it.
- Canada: Belarusians need a Canadian visa to transit, unless they are US permanent residents.
Dubai, Abu Dhabi and Singapore are simpler: no passport needs a visa to stay in their transit areas. The "Changing planes" section of the Belarus passport page keeps these rules up to date.
How we keep this list honest
Our base dataset is a public list of visa requirements for every passport. We compare the Belarusian passport with lists that cite IATA Timatic, the database airlines check at boarding. Whenever they disagree, we change our data only after confirming the rule with an official government source or a legal text. A few destinations are still being checked, so treat any single entry as a starting point and confirm it before you travel.
Rules can change without notice. Before you book, confirm with the destination's official immigration website or embassy.
