With a Philippine passport you can visit 101 countries and territories without going to an embassy. 37 of them are fully visa-free: you show your passport at the border and walk in.

The list below uses the same data as our Philippines passport page, so the two always match. When we confirm a rule change with an official source, both update together.

Four ways in without an embassy

  • Visa-free: no application. Show your passport, and usually a return ticket, at the border.
  • Visa on arrival: you get the visa at the airport or border when you land. A fee may apply.
  • eTA: a short online travel authorisation, applied for before you fly.
  • eVisa: a full visa, but you apply on the official government website. No embassy visit.

All four count as "no embassy". Only the last two need an online application before you travel.

What changed for Filipinos in 2025 and 2026

Visa lists age quickly. These are the changes we have confirmed since the start of 2025:

  • Angola: visa-free, 30 days per entry (since 17 October 2025). Presidential Decree 193/25 added the Philippines to Angola's tourist visa exemption list, for up to 90 days a year.
  • Nicaragua: visa-free (since 16 February 2026). The Philippines is on the exempt list of Nicaragua's Disposición 002-2026. A US$10 tourist card is paid on arrival. See Nicaragua's new visa list.
  • Thailand: 30 days instead of 60 (since 15 September 2026). Filipinos still enter Thailand visa-free, but the stay is now 30 days. See Thailand's new visa rules.
  • Israel: ETA-IL before travel (since 1 January 2025). Visa-exempt travellers, Filipinos included, need an approved electronic travel authorisation from israel-entry.piba.gov.il before they fly.
  • Liberia: online visa on arrival (since 11 March 2025). Apply on visaonarrival.lis.gov.lr before you travel. You receive an approval with a QR code, and the visa is put in your passport at Roberts International Airport.
  • Ghana: eVisa (since 25 May 2026). Visitors who need a visa now apply on Ghana's official eVisa portal, evisa.immigration.gov.gh, instead of getting one on arrival.
  • Cabo Verde: visa needed before you travel (since 1 January 2026). The Philippines is on the list of nationalities that can no longer get a visa on arrival. See Africa's visa changes in 2026.

Hold a US, UK or Schengen visa? More doors open

Some countries relax their rules for Filipinos who already hold a valid US, UK or Schengen visa or residence permit. A Schengen visa opens 14 extra destinations, a US visa 10 and a UK visa 7. These are the extra destinations a Schengen visa opens:

A US visa also opens Canada: with a valid US non-immigrant visa, or a Canadian visa held in the last 10 years, Filipinos can fly to Canada with an eTA instead of a visa. This works for air travel only.

These are the extra destinations a US visa opens:

Each country has its own conditions, such as a multiple-entry visa or one you have already used. They are listed with their official sources on the held-visa pages: Schengen visa, US visa, UK visa and Schengen residence permit.

Changing planes on the way

Cheap flights often connect in Europe or North America. For Filipinos:

  • Schengen area: you can change planes airside in most Schengen airports without a visa. The exception is France, which requires an airport transit visa from Filipinos. You don't need it if you hold a valid Schengen visa or residence permit, a valid visa for Canada, Japan or the US, or a US, Canadian, Japanese or UK residence permit.
  • United Kingdom: Filipinos don't need a direct airside transit visa to change planes in a UK airport without passing border control.
  • United States: there is no airside transit. You need a US visa even to change planes, and a valid US visitor (B) visa covers it.
  • Canada: you normally need a Canadian visa to transit. Canada's Transit Without Visa programme is an exception: with a valid US visa, flying to or from the US through Toronto Pearson (Terminal 1), Vancouver, Calgary or Winnipeg on a participating airline, staying in the international transit area and leaving within 24 hours.

The "Changing planes" section of the Philippines passport page keeps these rules up to date.

How we keep this list honest

Our base dataset is a public list of visa requirements for every passport. We compare the Philippine passport with lists that cite IATA Timatic, the database airlines check at boarding. Whenever they disagree, we change our data only after confirming the rule with an official government source or a legal text. A few destinations are still being checked, so treat any single entry as a starting point and confirm it before you travel.

Rules can change without notice. Before you book, confirm with the destination's official immigration website or embassy.
